What Homes in Macedon Face
Macedon is our first stop in Wayne County, New York’s leading apple-growing county, and orchards sit right up against a lot of the homes here.
Macedon sits just east of Fairport across the Wayne County line, strung along the Erie Canal on Route 31 in a more spread-out, rural pattern than the canal villages closer to the city. Wayne County is the state’s top apple-producing county, and in Macedon that isn’t just a fact on a map — a lot of residential lots here sit directly at the edge of active orchard land, with the open exposure that comes with farmland on one or more sides.
Roofing & Siding in Macedon
A property at the edge of open orchard land takes weather differently than one further into a subdivision — and we look at it accordingly.
Homes with orchard or open field exposure on one side tend to show wind wear unevenly — worse on the exposed face, better on the sheltered one — which is exactly the kind of pattern we check for rather than assuming a roof’s overall age tells the story. We get up there, look at both faces, and tell you honestly which side is actually driving the timeline.
Siding facing open farmland takes the same uneven exposure, and a tear-off on that exposed side is where we find out what the sheathing behind it has been dealing with. If there’s something to address, you see it in photographs before it’s on an invoice, same as everywhere else we work.
